Today, I had the opportunity to do my sister's make-up for a family friend's wedding. It was my first time doing a full make-up on someone and I am extremely proud of myself because it turned out so well. I wanted to make my sister look natural yet flawless. These are some of the pictures I took after doing her make-up. Next time, I will ensure to do a before/after so you can tell the difference. Enjoy!
Keep in mind that these pictures were taken with my phone in the washroom. No editing/filter!
She is a true beauty! I love how the makeup looks so natural and beautiful. It accentuates her best features and gives her face a beautiful lift.
I contoured and highlighted her face. You can tell her cheekbones look more lifted because of the contouring in the hollows of her cheeks.

Be Kind To Your Heart.
I wanted to talk about something more personal and informative for today's blog post. Recently, a family member of mine suffered from a myocardial infarction for the second time and now requires a bypass surgery. Cardiovascular disease is a major cause of death in Canada. Many of us fail to recognize the importance of taking control of our own health and utilizing preventative strategies to decrease the likelihood of experiencing cardiovascular diseases in our lifetime.
CVD is pervasive amongst the South Asian population. I, myself, coming from a South Asian background with heart disease strongly rooted in my genetics can agree to this since high-sodium and high-fat diet is part of our culture. I feel that our parents are not educated properly in terms of their health and most importantly how to prevent heart diseases.
I wanted to share with you some knowledge I have developed from Nursing School in the past two years. I wanted to focus mostly on DIET and PHYSICAL ACTIVITY. Diet and exercise are vastly correlated to heart diseases. In order to prevent or decrease the likelihood of suffering from CVD in your lifetime, you need to make changes to your sedentary lifestyle.
High sodium and High fat diets are extremely harmful for those who have CVD in their family history. Decreasing your sodium intake and fat intake will be beneficial to your health. Physical Activity is equally as important as nutritional intake. Exercising makes your heart pump blood more effectively to provide tissues and organs with oxygen.
Here are some foods to consider:
1) Whole grains
2) Fruits
3) Vegetables
4) Brown Rice
5) Oats
6) Fish, Salmon, Tuna
Some foods to avoid:
1) Whole milk (most dietary products for that matter)
2) Egg yolks
3) Red Meat
4) Deep fried food
5) High fat/sugar Desserts
6) Butter and Margarine
7) Mayonnaise
The goal here is to increase HDL cholesterol and decrease LDL cholesterol. To put in simpler ways to understand, HDL (High-density lipoprotein) is GOOD cholesterol and in contract, LDL (Low-density lipoprotein) is BAD cholesterol.
PLEASE educate your parents and family members to take preventative actions to PROTECT THEIR HEART and LIVE A LONG HEALTHY LIFE.
Xo!

Delicious Healthy Snack: Brown Rice Cake
Exercise.
EAT Clean.
Health MATTERS.
I know many of us are on the healthy lifestyle boat which is great because healthy eating is important in order to keep our body and brain functioning effectively. In terms of maintaining a healthy weight, every little bite we take whether it's junk food or nutritious food counts! I am all for healthy lifestyle. It is important than we fuel our body with nutrients-rich foods. We are what we eat and we are also what we don't eat! However, that does not mean, you go CRAY and completely limit yourself from enjoying some delicious cupcakes and pies! It is okay to occasionally cheat and indulge in some sweets.
MODERATION is KEY.
The most difficult part about maintaining a healthy lifestyle is finding delicious and healthy snacks (At least for me!) I have the BIGGEST sweet tooth ever! I can't go a day without sneaking in something sweet into my diet. I have spent sometime at the grocery store analyzing various products and the nutrition value labels. I also did some research online and found different ideas to create delicious snacks for myself and of course for the fellow bloggers.
What you will need:
1) Brown rice cake (Original flavor)
2) Almond butter
3) Cottage cheese (low fat one)
4) Greek yogurt (any flavor of your choice)
Brown rice is great to incorporate into your diet because it is more nutritious than white rice and also has a low glycemix index ( low carbohydrates). Greek yogurt is packed with protein. It is important that whenever you have carbohydrates, you also incorporate some source of protein with it.
How to Make it:
1) Get your brown rice cake
2) Use a butter knife and spread some almond butter evenly on the cake
3) Spread some Greek yogurt evenly on top of the almond butter
4) add a tbsp of cottage cheese on top!
That's it! You can have it with a cup of tea or coffee between your meals. I hope you enjoy it! Make sure to let me know how it turned out for you! Good Luck <3

FIVE BASIC BEAUTY TIPS
Hey fellow bloggers, I would like to share some of my beauty tips to make your daily makeup routine easier. If you're a beginner to makeup then these tips will definitely help you!
1) Blend Eyeshadows well
Blending your eyeshadows is important to make your eye makeup look professional and amazing. By blending your eyeshadows well, you are getting rid of the harsh lines that make your eye make-up look unprofessional. When you are using two or more eye shadow colors, make sure to blend well to make the colors mix evenly, thus creating a flawless look. When applying your eye makeup, make sure you use a separate clean blending brush.
2) Use a piece of tape!
if you are one of those people who has a difficult time keeping the eyeshadows within the outer corner of your eyes, then use a piece of masking tape and tape it, aligning it whatever way you like, depending on what kind of eye-make up you are going for. This is also a great trick to give your eyes a lift by aligning the tape from the outer corner of your eyes outwards and downwards ( like this / ). For those who have down-turned eyes, this is a great way to give your eyes a lift!
3) Vaseline/Almond Oil
Make up can be stubborn sometimes making it difficult to take it off. Apply a bit of vaseline to a cotton pad and wipe your eye-make up and lipstick off. Almond oil gives you the same effect while leaving your skin looking soft and smooth.
4) Concealer to make your lipstick stand out!
Apply a tiny bit of concealer to your lips before putting on your favorite lip stick! This intensifies the color of your lipstick, making it look more vibrant and beautiful. Be careful not to use too much, a tiny bit of it is enough.
5) Suck your cheeks in!
Suck your cheeks in whether you are applying bronzer, blush, or shimmer. Smiling when applying these will make it look like you applied your product closer to your nose. You want your bronzer and blush on your cheek bones to give your face a beautiful lift.
